    Help Dvd clips and gif?
Hi I have windows vista home prem. now and I know how to rip clips from dvd's but what program should I download for ripping clips from dvd box sets on vista? I have Nero and it sucks! Also I only want some clips from the dvds I used pocket pc trial verison before and it stopped working for me. Any programs that lets me rip a part of the dvd?I also have an xp and Nero doesnt do anything for me there we even had people look at it. Plus I don't want the whole dvd cause it will take up to much mb and anyways I wouldn't be able to change it to wmv and stuff. I really need help.

Also does anyone know how to make a wmv, AVI to gif?

I am using RAD VIDEOTOOLS to convert .mov and .avi files to gif animations.
    Works great, and free!

Use dvd shrink in reauthor mode to cut out a clip, https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=198813 . You will then get a vob file...if you prefer a mpg use vob2mpg.

You can also cut directly from the dvd with VideoRedo, Tmpgenc MPEG Editor.

Thanks so much both of you.

Will Windows Media Encoder (series 9) rip clips from copy protected dvd? I want only like a 5 min clip from a dvd box set of a tv show. I liked how pocket pc trial verison worked on my old windows xp before we had dvd burner problems. Will this software or anything like this at all and lets me get the dvd (only a clip) into wmv file for me to use in Windows movie maker and Adobe Premiere elemnts 3?
