hi, i wish to create a photo slide show with my own music as background.
what is the best software out there, that has the feature of allowing the slide show to be burned onto a DVD for (stand-alone) player? Window Movie Maker seems to have limited video effects.
your input will be greatly appreciated. thank you.

Thanks MJA
I was also looking for a photoDVD application. The only problem is they want 19.99 for the dvd burning plugin. Now I am wondering what type of output it makes...can the output be used with another dvd burning app? Or do you need another program to modify the output so that it can then be burned? Anyone know or have any guesses.
I have not installed it. I will if it can be used with out too much "extra" work but I try to keep the amount of MSoft software to a minimum.
Thanks again for the link. -

reading the faq on it, it sounds as if it converts your images into wmv files (and on top of that it does another widows validation check. I have a legit windows xp disc, but it is an issue for that the fact that it has to ask this, its annoying if anything else). No thanks I will stick with pro show gold---

Thanks byteguy and mazinz
I should have known that wmv would be the output. Read the faq - why didn't I think of that. I think I spent too much time in the sun today.
I guess I will keep looking.
Thanks again for the info. -

makes an AVI that you can convert with TMPGEnc to DVD compliant MPG...never had any problems at all with it..and you can add your own WAV as the backgroundjust a thought

To all Proshow users,
I used its trial version last year or so, don't remember exact version but I guess its like 2.5 or so (not too sure) I tried making VCD as well as DVD, the quality was pretty crap (I mean really crap). The pictures I used were 3mp (if that makes difference)
And, I could not figure out the way of putting captions like subtitles in this program.
Of course, the samples given on the websites are just brilliant but no way a new user can make them very easily...
I tried iDVD then with the same pictures and the results were pretty good except the fact that I have a limitation of 99 pictures in every slideshow and I can't add subtitles captions in that.
Any comments?
