In a recent post, someone was wondering how to test an authored DVD. It generated some thoughts to me and I did a search to find if there are any professional tools to allow a business that is authoring DVDs to verify that the DVD structure is nominal.

There is one solution that I found:
    Philips DVD Video Verifier ($500)
    http://www.licensing.philips.com/services/lover/h/documents1038.html

The tool is free to download and install, however you need to register (and pay for it) before you get an activation code. The manual documents all the various error reports and appears to be ultra-comprehensive.

For those authoring DVDs for a living, this must be a must.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

Good find SaSi. Have you submitted it as a new tool?

Having gone to the link, it seems that it's only for DVD+RW - which isn't surprising as Philips created and are pushing the +R(W) format.
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.
