I saw someone looking for templates the other day and thought I'd go ahead and post the ones I made. There are 9 total for VCD, SVCD, DVD and NTSC, NTSCFilm, PAL with CVD resolutions as options in both the SVCD and DVD templates. My goals were best quality on 1 or few disc(s), high compatiblity and, as an after thought, ease of later using the VCD or SVCD files on DVDs. Some of the changes can only be done by editing the templates in notepad, like setting the default disc to 80min.

I made the mistake of looking through my settings again before posting these and made some pretty insignigicant changes but somehow screwed up the VCD templates when saving them so if anyone downloaded these within the first 20 minutes or so of my posting them you may want to get them again.

They look generally alright though you might want to change the max frames in gop to 18 in the ADVD (NTSCFilm).mcf and ADVD (NTSC).mcf templates and it would be better just to have cvd templates with 48khz,no need for 44khz.
I think,therefore i am a hamster. -
I never actually used the CVD templates myself but they were meant for CD. If your target media is DVD then the ADVD template would be the one to use, it defaults to a CVD resloution with 352x240(288) and 720x480(576) as options.

Im looking for a tempgenc template to make my default
Im in PAL land, high quality video
do i need to change the gop to 18 in the ADVD(PAL) template
thankyou -
no, 15 is fine for PAL and it really doesn't need to be changed in ntsc either, both 15 and 18 are fine there.

Made some changes to the DVD templates so that up to (24) 45 minute tv episodes fit on 4 discs by default. The link above has the new file now.

Correct CVD spec for audio is 44, NOT 48. 48 would be correct for half-D1 DVD, but NOT for CVD.
Many players will handle 48, though not all. -
The CVD templates do use 44.1khz audio, the DVD templates of course use 48khz but have CVD resolution, half D1, as an option.
