If the DVD defualt language is not english (say german for example), and you rip the movie only, you end up with a mute soundtrack! How do you set the soundtrack to english? Although copying all soundtracks and using the 'audio' option on your dvd remote will overcome this.
Can ifoedit be used to resolve this?![]()

Rip it using SmartRipper. Use the option that allows you to select the audio tracks you want to have. Rip the English track only and enjoy!

Yes IFOEdit can be used to do this. Open the IFO for the titleset that contains your movie. Up at the top click on VTS_PGCITI and expand it if there are multiple PGCs. Select the PGC that contains your movie and scroll down to where it lists Audio Stream 1 Status, audio stream 2 statuts etc...
The default audio stream will be the one listed as 32768 and than all other audio tracks will have a different number. Just double click on these numbers and change them. Find the audio track you want to play by default and change the number to 32768, and then switch that number out with the one you replaced.
So if German is audio track 1 (32768) and English is 2 (33024), and you want English to play, then just switch these two numbers. Click save IFO down at the bottom and test it out.
If there are multiple PGCs for your movie you will have to go through and do this for each one. -
With a username like "foulplay" and asking questions about German films, surely it doesn't matter what the language is - isn't that kind of thing universally understood...? Surely, it doesn't matter what "tongue" is being used?
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

Actually referring to The Naked Gun films!! Atempted to edit clips from these movies, resulted in a mute soundtrack when, unticking the german soundtrack, using Dvdshrink. The english sountrack is not the default language.
I'll give the tips listed here a try.
I presume daamon you are referring to the darker side of the net?! -
