Hello,
I recently received two NTSC DVD's of the same concert footage. One DVD has good video, but bad audio and the other has good audio but bad video.
I've ripped them both using the now defunct DVD Decryptor into Vob, Ifo, and Bup files.
Is there a way to easily (yeah right...) swap soundtracks or video? Naturally, even though they are the same concert, the actual videos are different lengths, so I'd have to sync the audio when finished.
Any suggestions, besides the standard float test? (throw them both in a river and see which one floats).
many thanks,
Rick

Is the answer too obvious?
Throw away BOTH discs and then delete the post.

Of course it is possible, but you may get some problems with the different lengths of them.
Demux them both (using for instance PGCDemux or VOBEdit). You will now have two video files (one good and one bad, right?) and two sound files.
Use some audio editor to change the length of the good sound file to match the good video exactly (by cutting off a bit or by adding silence). Since I have no idea what kind of sound you have I cannot suggest any program to do it.
Reauthor with for instance MuxMan or IfoEdit, using the good sound file and the good video.
Burn it to a DVD, put it in the DVDplayer, lean back, grab a beer and enjoy...
There is plenty of info in the guides section about how to use the tools mentioned. Good luck!In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move. -
Thanks,
I was thinking the process would be something like that.
Naturally, I was hoping there was a program called "Magic Wand" that would read my mind and just take care of the whole thing.
Seriously, thanks again.
