I have a Panasonic DMR-ES15 DVD recorder and I put about 3 1/2 to 4 hours on each DVD I make but the quality comes out really bad. I could get better quality with a VCR. What can I do to fix this?

Probably recording less on each disc would result in a better picture.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

Panasonic DVD recorders have horrible image quality beyond 2 hours (SP mode). You have two choice:

#1 - Use SP only on a Panasonic

#2 - Buy a better DVD recorder, known for it's high quality at up to 4 hours. The JVC DVD recorders are the single best recorders available for 3-4 hour quality.

would it be cheaper to just purchase a tv tuner for my computer and record tv right to my hard drive instead? and if so what is a good tv tuner for a laptop. i have an 80gb hard drive so i have enough space. id like to get a usb one if there is such a thing.

Why do you need to put 4 hours of TV on a disk ?

Cheapest way out is to use 2 disks instead of 1.
Figure out how many disks you can buy for a $100.00
At least 250 .....thats 500 hours
