  1. Ok i have a DVD, and it has 6 episodes on it.

I want to convert each of these eps to .avi in DVD rip quality, so i have 6 .avi's.

What is the best way to do this?

What i have tried is use DVD decrypter to rip the DVD. This gives me about 7 VOB's, as well as a few other files, (IFO,BUP)

Firstly only 5 of these VOB's are the correct size for an episode, so what are the others?

Then i tried to use WinAvi to convert 1 VOB to .avi but the quality was very poor, and the audio was for some reason in GERMAN??? The DVD is English.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks you.

THe way I do episodic discs is to use DVDDecrypter in IFO mode and set file-splitting to none. This gives me one VOB per episode, which I then load into AutoGK and batch the episodes up. Then run overnight and in the morning I've got my eps in Xvid format.
    If in doubt, Google it.

hi, thanks i tried this, but when i do it, dvddecrypter only gives me 1 VOB - which is all the eps put together.

then when i put it into autogk, it gives me 1 .avi which is all the eps put together!

what do i have to change?

It depends on how the disc has been authored, but normally each episode is it's own PGC, which means that you need to use IFO mode to isolate episode by episode. I have seen discs that have all eps as one PGC and ep 1 is chapters 1-7, ep 2 is chapters 8-15 and so on. In this case just tick chapters 1 to 7, then do 8-15, and so on. Rinse, repeat.
    If in doubt, Google it.
