    hi,
this is my directory's content right now.. is there a way to recreate the missing VTS_01_0.IFO so I can burn the movie to dvd?
    Code:
      127,264,768 VTS_01_0.VOB
    1,073,715,200 VTS_01_1.VOB
    1,073,717,248 VTS_01_2.VOB
    1,073,719,296 VTS_01_3.VOB
      756,361,216 VTS_01_4.VOB
also, in what condition would VTS_01_0.VOB be smaller then VTS_01_1.VOB and the rest of them...

    Cheers

IFOEdit should be able to recreate the Missing IFO.

Sometimes the first VOB is the intro to the movie or even previews and much shorter than the main movie VOBs. You can play it with PowerDVD or others and find out.

Yup, IFOEdit can create new IFO's from vob files.

The first vob in the titleset usually contains the menus so that's why its smaller.

IFOEdit can recreate IFOs using http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/test.htm#ifoedit , but I think it will look for VTS_01_1.VOB and skip over VTS_01_0.VOB. This sin't really such a bad thing though, as VTS_01_0.VOB is probably a menu. After recreating the IFOs, you could then pull the files into an authoring software such as TMPGEnc DVD Author and make your own menus.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Thanks guys, it really did recreate the files but now when I try to read this directory using CloneDVD, I get an error and in the details it says:
    DVDManager 0 invalid SourcePictureResolution

    Any ideas?

it is a movie called Lords.Of.Dogtown and I only have what I showed above. Just the main movie VOB files copied from the original copy I had and is now scratched and can't copy from it again.

If IFOEdit doesn't work you may be purchasing another copy if you want to watch this skater movie again.

but the VOB files are good... it might be just that I'm doing some wrong settings when I'm running IFOEdit.
Also, after running it, the subtitles are green and bold and can't be read... this also just might be a settings issue.

Are you sure you copied it correctly from your purchased disc and didn't download this? There is a discussion at a website that deals in these shady things asking for the VTS_01_0.IFO of Lords of Dogtown and Bewitched.

Yes I'm sure I had the original. It is now too scratched to copy anything from it... my dvd drive can't even read it.

  14. hmm...this seems...dodgy, i dunno anyone who has movies that have names like Lords.Of.Dogtown I've seen illegal downloads online with filenames like that before............thats all the further im gonna go with this one...and btw, if you can read the first vob, im fairly certain you can also read the ifo file.... (an ifo file is generally in the kb area...that would be like buying a game and not being able to open the readme.......)

You could always just author your own DVD with the VOBs that you have.

You may also want to check your local media stores. Our local blockbuster has this movie for $8.

ROF, that was a good idea
I called them up and they do have this movie available for rent and it'll be available for purchase later in the year (2006).
So I'm just going to wait it out and get a used copy when it comes out there

    So thanks mate!

whitejremiah, don't suggest I stole my copy.
