using virtualvcr, vhs player to philips based capture card, just like this one,
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details. ... CatId=1425
have tried cable audio out from vhs directly to sound card audio in, and also vhs audio out to capture card audio in with patch of capture card audio out to sound car audio in
while capturing i have audio, but no audio in the captured file.
i attached 4 screen shots of all the audio configure settings of virtualvcr in the hope that somebody can see if i have not set that up correctly
assuming the card is working ok, it does for the video anyway, i'm thinking there is something wrong with how i have setup virtvcr audio

ok finally got it, see the attachment for choices offered by my sound card, i started going through the list one by one, mono out turned out to be one that works!
so one last question if i may, for any given sound card, you don't necessarily know what will work? just have to try the choices until you find one that works?
thanks for all the help
