WMV HD to MKV HD

1st off hi all....

What i want to know is what is the BEST method is for Converting 8gig WMV HD Video to around 4gig MKV HD.

I tried GDSmux to get the Video out of a 1080p Video but when it had finnished it was 820..?

The reason is i want to MultiAVCHD them maybe 2 on 1 Duel Layer but that isn't that important to have 2 on 1 DL.

I know i must make the MKV use the H.264 Codec,

I tried Super but this ran into problems.

So far i'm doing it the long way here's my method so far, Not tested yet as i am awaiting delivery of my Blu-Ray Player.

1.GDSmux to rip the Video.
2.Foobar2000 to rip the Audio
3.EncWavtoAc3 to convert the Audio to AC3
4.Super to Correct the 1080P problem i have with GDSmux (And to set the bitrate to 4032)
5.tsMuxeR to re-mux the Audio and Video
6.multiAVCHD to create the IMG Burn files

So does anyone have any better ways of doing this.

HandBrake or Xvid4PSP and convert to h264 video and ac3 or aac audio.
