  1. I have two questions regarding DivX menus.

    1. DivX introduced menus for a while but I am yet to figure out if you could make DivX of DVD maintaining DVD menus. Recently I downloaded one DivX file with perfect DVD menu-like menu. So I guess there is a way. Could any expert comment on that?

    2. When I want to make one file from 2 or 3 files after converting it to DivX, it shows up plain blue menu with all 3 names. I don't want this menu and just want one DivX file. How this can be achieved.

I will be using DivX converter for all these conversions.

    Thanks in advance.

    1) It's impossible. Sorry. You have to make new menus when you convert to DivX.
    2) I can't help you with this as I never make menus for any discs I burn. It's too much trouble in my opinion.

Please note that DivX converter was designed to be used by idiots. I'm NOT saying that you are an idiot for using it, I am saying that it was designed for stupid who know nothing to use. You have no control at all over what it does. You can't set bit rate or change resolution - it is completely unconfigurable except for picking the type of output you want. You'd really be better off to get familiar with Dr. Divx. Dr. Divx is free and it's not difficult to learn how to use it. If you are smart enough to ask for help here then you are smart enough to not use an idiot's tool (DivX converter) to do your conversions.

You can use the latest version of TMPGenc Dvd author 3 to make a menu on a divx but it will only be visible on divx ultra players and they will not be motion menu's.
I played about when I first bought the program but I have to agree with jman98 and say its not worth the bother.

  4. Its not widely supported enough to make it worthwhile.. what happens when your Duvx ultra system gets the Kibosh and you move onto something else?? Your divx files wont play.. and there's nothing out there that can de-mux the file from the menus.. I dabbled with it then realised the future problems.. that's if you plan to keep your files and/or expect to upgrade your equipment

Divx files with menus etc will play in non-Divx Ultra machines, but the menus etc will be ignored, so you won't lose your files if you get a non-Ultra player in the future.

That said, beyond the novelty value, I am yet to seen any benefit to the exercise.
