I went to Walmart in China and I have never seen a DVD player that was marked "Blue Ray", but a lot of movie DVDs sold in China are marked "Blue Ray", but ( in spite of what it says on the package) those DVDs play in all ordinary DVD players. These "Blue Ray" disks sell for about a dollar, while the regular disks sell for about 50 cents.

If they play in a regular DVD player, those discs are not Blu-Ray. Selling at such low prices, with English-language packaging, they are most likely unauthorized copies of Blu-Ray movies that have been downconverted to standard definition.
