blue ray to avi

good day please help , i have been struggling to convert my blue ray movie on my usb to avi in order to play on my normal dvd player at home. when i tried to convert then took the usb home, plugged it in and had an error about not supported......
please help , i have movies on my work pc, when i right click to properties it says eg: ANNABELLE.2014.720p.Blu ray x264.YIFY(1).
type of file is WINDOWS MOVIE (AVI), OPENS WITH WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER.

PLEASE HELP, AS TO YOUR SOONEST.

We'll need the text information about your AVI from MediaInfo. Without knowing what you have that doesn't play, we'd just be guessing. And, as a guess I'd say you made a hi-def XviD AVI of the warez file you downloaded and your DVD player supports only standard-def XviD AVIs.

please advise how i would get the media info you requrie? from the LG DVD PLAYER itself or ??
