blu ray to avi

good day , please help me have been trying for a week now to find a converter that will help me. i have blu ray movies on my pc.
when i put them on the usb, and took it home, it didnt want to play from the usb. its said something about ..." not supporting and format...."


please advise i found a couple of avi converters on the web, tried all to change to avi, but with no luck.

do i need to change the blu ray to mp4 then to avi? please help>?

What are you playing it on?

You can use all-in-one converters like freemake video converter (NOTE ADWARE) and convert most stuff to avi. Choose to avi, select avi(xvid) preset.

I just told you how to convert it. You might have to change the resolution/frame size to max 720x576 pixels or lower. You can do that it freemake also.

Or use Xmedia Recode (no annoying adware), import/open the blu-ray file, select the DVD Player(Standalone) Preset. Convert. Play the avi on your DVD Player.

Or try official Divx Converter.

i have installed the divx converter and it now shows when saved to my desktop then to my usb , is it supposed to have change the icon on my usb with the movies with the icon for divx in dark blue ? am i on the right path?
where on the usb, i click on the movie converted, and right click to properties, the info under properties is type of file (avi file)
opens with DIVX PLAYER
THEN some info attributes : archive

am i right in stating by the will of all mighty ....it should play now on my normal dvd player.?

Normal DVD players don't play AVI files or HD video at all. If you know your DVD player plays Divx (MPEG 4 part 2, not h.264 or h.265) or Xvid in AVI you can convert to that and they should work. You'll have to reduce the resolution to 720x576 or less.

in mpeg 2. whats the best way when converting how will i know it worked before i use it on the dvb? for eg right click on properties it should have waht info for me to be on the right path>?

the model of my lg dvd player is 300 5.1 CH HOME THEATRE SYSTEM, does this help answer your ques?>
so best way , to take the blu ray movie, convert to mpeg2 , resolution 720 then put it on my usb, and try it on my lg dvd player at home?

You've been given a number of suggestions above. However if this is a downloaded file (as I now see in your other thread), my step by step advice would be the same as Baldrick's -- buy the DVD.

Why not simply take the original blu-ray disk and play in on a blu-ray player? Or if you do not have a player and you want to play it from your PC hook your PC up to your TV?
