  1. I've been encountering a strange issue (Strange to me at least, not having great deal of experience with VHS tapes) while playing/digitising tapes on by RTV Blaupunkt 966.
At times, when I'm dealing with more problematic tape (Not sure if it's dusty or damaged in some way) and I come across the "trouble spot" like I call it, after some distortion of image - the colour gets "knocked off" the picture. It usually comes back, but it can take couple minutes.
If I replay it, I can usually successfull make it through this "trouble spot" on second try. You can see it on the second sample video - where there is still that distortion in the same spot, but the colour now stays.

    Sample B:

I'm curious - is it a known issue which can happen with problematic/damaged tapes - or rather is this a fixture or a flaw with my VCR?
I noticed there is often some problem with colour when I start playing every tape, it can take couple seconds for colours to "kick in", so I think it could be related to that.

    Thanks!

  3. If it's either pal or secam, try to force pal or secam out, instead of Auto mode.
