  1. Working under the ISO Files tab of VCDEasy, I added a folder by selecting it out of the browser box. After the folder was added, a message box appeared, stating "123 confilcts occurred.. Do you want to see them ?" Clicking Yes, the next box states "At the ISO Fullname "WEBSITE/THEME/NICEBACK.GIF" "C:\Album CD Smith\Website\Theme\niceback2.gif" is in conflict with "C:\Album CD Smith\Website\Theme\niceback.gif""

    Clicking Yes again leads to another similar message, and another, and so on.

    I am too ignorant of the process to guess what a "file conflict" might be in this context, so I was hoping someone could tell me what might be wrong. The files themselves are fine, and I am able to add other folders to the VCD with no problem.

  2. Can you post the XML within the <filesystem> tags?

  3. I see what is happening now. To convert the filenames to 8.3 format, the software is just truncating any extra characters off the end:

    <file src="C:\Album CD Smith\WebSite\Theme\gindexbtn.gif">
    <name>GINDEXBT.GIF</name>

    So, the files niceback.gif and niceback2.gif would both end up being named NICEBACK.GIF, hence the conflict. So, this is a function of VCDImager, probably not much that can be done.

    Do you happen to know if this is a limitation of the VCD standards, or is it just a limitation in VCDImager? At any rate, truncating the image file names invalidates the references to them on my web pages, so this is a real problem for my particular project.

  4. Ah... didn't even see that...

    At the moment, VCDImager only supports ISO Level 1 filenames... but it is intended that it will support Level 2 names sometime in the future.

    At present, there is little you can do... unless you are willing to rename your source files.

  5. anhinga,

    Thanks for the information. I used VCDImager with my file names are long and didn't have any problem, therefore, I didn't realize this limitation. I named my files: 01_scene_name.gif, 02_scene_name.gif, so when the file got truncated, I never had 2 files with same name.
