G'day all,
The wife wanted me to capture certain clips from various movies for a powerpoint presentation So I hooked up the DVD player to my sony DV camera, camera to box through firewire connection and set the DV passthrough up on the camera. I captured with the usual DV.AVI settings to keep the quality up and all the clips captured really nice. Good sound, great picture blah blah blah. The problem is when I click on "Project" and go to play the whole thing with clips and transitions together. It takes a few minutes to render (only because it's a short project) and then when it plays it's like the sound has disappeared and all I get is a bunch of hissingThis seems very strange to me as each clip in the video timeline plays perfectly with great sound and pic, but when I play the whole project the picture is fine, but the audio seems to be absent. Something seems to be happening when it renders to wipe out or wreck the sound. Any ideas? I'm kinda scratching my head on this one. My capture settings are as follows.
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
Microsoft AVI files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Field Order A
DV Video Encoder -- type 1
DV Audio -- NTSC, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo
Thanks Much,
Max![]()

Don't worry about VS7 playing the video wrong. Render the video anyway and play it with another player.
