I've used the new Ritek G05's with success so far on my Lite-on, and pursuaded my friend to use on his Sony DWU-14A. (Until now we used the G04's). However, on his Sony he gets the "power calibration error" each time with the G05's. Reading past posts it may be a 'firmware' problem, so he downloaded an updated firmware. He unzipped the file, and it seemed to have installed. Still the same. What else is involved in installing the firmware ? Is it self installing or is something else necessary, and how do you check which firmware is installed ? Thanks.

Sony firmware is usually in the form of a windows executable. You not only have to unzip the file, you need to run the .EXE file which was contained in the .ZIP file.

Thanks, I'll look into it again. But, how do you confirm what firmware is actually installed afterwards ?

Thanks guys. Yes, Nero does display the info, and indeed the update firmware has not installed. When executing the file, which file/folder do I aim for when opening the 'browse' ? (excuse the naive questions, but haven't done this before) !!
