  1. Hi everybody!
    May be a stupid question..
I have an AVI file and I want to convert it to DVD so I extract the audio and convert it to the right stardard for DVD which is 48000Hz and the video to MPEG2 the question is to calulate the right video bitrate I must consider the audio bitrate that i have in the original AVI file or the extracted and coverted one?

    thanks in advance

  2. The bitrate you are going to use for calcuation purposes is the extracted and converted one.

For example, if you extraced an LPCM stream of 1536 kbps and were going to AC3 it to 256 kbps, then you're concerned about what your video bitrate would be in regards to the 256 number, not the 1536.
