  1. Im really impressed by the quailty of star wars on dvd. is there any way to clean videos up like they did?

  3. I once saw a special on the Star Wars SE VHS releases, apparently they physically cleaned the actual film print, then went through each frame and digitally removed any scratches and blemishes... 2 hour movie = 172627 frames...

    Yeah I'm afraid a professional studio with a few million bucks at your disposal is the only true way to restore video. The filters available online can only do so much. The truth is home digital video is still in its infancy. Where as studio film has been around for almost a hundred years. They know what there doing.

    I agree the quality on the new dvds is outstanding. Give credit to Lucas for caring so much to preserve a national (sorry International ) treasure - even though some of you out there dislike the changes.
