Very cool. I have been waiting for NewEgg to get these and I think I am gonna hit the 4x's now that RIMA is out of them. NewEgg is pretty reliable so I doubt they are fakes.

    Thanks for the info buddy!

rima.com is still cheaper for the 8x DVD-R 50 pack spindle for $35.00.

  4. Yea, I'd go to either one myself, Newegg is great and reliable on the hardware, I expect the same for disks. And I have order from Rima, I like them too. SO unless ordering hardware on same order I'd just go to which ever is cheaper. Don't forget to check shipping price also, sometimes Newegg has free shipping, sometimes cheap shipping, and smaller items like a mouse or 1 disk Expensive shipping at times.

Unfortunately for me the shipping cost is cheaper from Rima.com because I don't live in the 48 states. I live on a ISLAND (HONOLULU,HAWAII) which some think we aren't part of the USA!

Newegg doesn't include Hawaii or Alaska in their FED EX SUPER SAVER rates. When I order stuff from Newegg I make sure I get everything I need so the shipping cost is not so expensive compared when ordering just 1 item.

  6. Ya, shipping is normally higher. I geuss that's cause the trucks doing the ground shipping have trouble with the ocean mud and the drivers are scared of the sharks too

Problems with living in paradise I geuss..

Also, I noticed that these Taiyo Yudens don't have the infamous "This item may only be returned for a replacement of the same make/model." that most other NewEgg media has. I just wish they said Made in Japan somewhere in the item listing, but then again, they don't say that on their Maxell DVD-Rs even though, from experience, they really are Japanese.

Tys are the best media you can buy, period. That comes from many users who have tried them.

Indeed, TY are the best out there along with japanese maxells.

NewEgg does not charge shipping based on overall cost but based on individual items so there is no savings to be had by ordering more than one item.
Still a few bugs in the system...

That may be correct for those of you living in the other 48 states. But for folks like me in Hawaii ordering more than one item from Newegg there is a savings. If I did 2 separate orders the shipping cost would be doubled. I don't care to pay shipping costs of $23.10 for each order. For the TY discs the shipping cost is $23.00 and some cents but Rima.com shipping is only $18.77.
