  1. okay i have put a few of these in and no one has responded so i'm going to ask again becuas i can't find it on the website. okay my first question is when i use virutal dub on my audio for a movie then i use tnmpg to convert it at the end of the movie when i go to watch it it is out of sync for about 3 seconds i have tried everything else but if i don't use virtual dub and just the tnmpg then it doesn't have sound so what is wrong with this thing or what can i change?
second is that when i go to chop AVI files in avi chop i would have a file that is 768mb and want to chop it into 2 smaller files but the files would be for the first one 400mb and the second one is like 145mb what happened to the rest of the mb???
also when i use tnmpg once in a while i come up with a problem like floating decimal point or something with a calculator??? please help me thanks

  3. Ok, first of all, if you want people to answer your posts, you need to put a little more info inthere, otherwise we feel as if we are wasting out time, as we have to ask for more details...etc...

on your first question, you did not say what the source is.
That will depend on what the answer is.

If the source is mov, then the audio may be protected, and you are just about out of luck.

I *assume* the source is some sort of avi, since you are using VD.

As far as correcting av sync, read the how to on the edit page (too long for me to discuss here).

I had to do it to get some stuff to sync. It was a pain.
(demultiplex, edit sound file, encode, multiplex, test, again etc.)

On your second question, I am unqualified to answer.

we are willing to help. but not if seems that you have not put enough work into asking the quesitons.

You dont even mention your hardware, which could be the problem (or your os, etc.)

  4. one way i save myself some time when i have to edit the audio to get it to sync is to - and im talking about the mpeg

    1) demux the file
    2) convert the file to wav (i use dbampMusicConverter available in tools section)
    3) load wav with cool edit or your favorite editor
    4) load the mpeg in virtual dub and select .wav audio and pick the edited .wav file
    5) hit play in virtual dub.. if it is sync all the way through your set (make sure you set virtual dub to drop frames if fall behind) unless you have a kick ass cpu (i dont hehe)
    6) if its good encode the file to mp2 with tmpgenc or toolame and remux it
if its out of sync edit the wav summore and then go back to (5)

saves the time encoding the mp2 which can take a while even on a decent cpu just to find out your off a few milliseconds

if you loose sync suddenly in one spot of the movie you probably have a broken avi from the sound of it.. windows media player isnt always affected by that but most other apps are..

if it slowly looses sync you can still edit it out basically you just use cool edits stretch feature and pull the sound to the same lenght as the video
