    Hi All!

I'd like to know if it's possible to view the computer DVD player image on my TV.

I have a Pinnacle Studio Deluxe capture board, which has output of the signal.

    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Joelson.

You can, but video card TV outputs are usually pretty nasty :P

OK, but how it is done?

How the DVD signal is sent to the video card? Is there a software for that?
    Best regards,
    Joelson.

  5. If you set the TV as your main monitor then just open your software player of choice and maximize the screen. If you want to keep your TV as the secondary display, you need to find a player that will display fullscreen on a secondary device (not all players do.) I use Zoomplayer (for DVD playback you need to purchase it on top of a DVD software player you may or may not have.) it should play fullscreen on your secondary monitor.

Some video cards and laptops will allow you to plumb the composite right to the TV via an RCA jack. Make sure you don't already have one of these before buying a VGA>NTSC adapter

  7. Be aware that you may see nothing but a blank screen if you try to run Windows Media Player or other similar UI. This is because there is hardware acceleration in place that circumvents the standard display. This is similar to the issue of not having an image in the screen capture after pressing Ctrl-PrtSc. I've read that decreasing hardware acceleration is supposed to allow the image to be viewed through an external monitor, but it's never worked for me.

You need to turn off the copy protection or the tv-out will not play a DVD through your software players. DVDIdle is a tool that disables CSS/Macrovision for the video card TV-out. For those with Nvidia based cards TVtool is a great app that controls a lot of other features too.
