  1. I'm sure you're getting these emails as I am.
The ones that say "COPY ANY DVD WITH YOUR
    EXISTING CD-BURNER!!! BUY OUR SOFTWARE!!!"

Is this true, that you can copy a DVD with a
    CD-Burner, and not a DVD-burner?

    Thanks.

  2. Nope, it's a scam. They just sell you TMPGEnc and other programs we use around here for free. And they even say on their site that you're required to use a DVD-ROM. If they don't say that, then they're just that much more of a scam. If there were a way to do what they say they can do... then we'd already be doing it.

  3. did you know just opening and reading your spam can target you for MORE spam. many spam e-mails will send back a confirmation to the sender when you open it so they know yours is an active and used e-mail address. when they get the confirmation your e-mail moves to a confirmed active list that is sold to marketers who send you more spam.

    never open spam!!!
    peace out,

  4. I get masses of those and it pisses me off. Anyway, cpgoose, do you really think that is possible? If it would be, we would have done it long before some crap enterprise comes and tries to SELL you free software.

    Bullshit.

    "Never open spam"

Amen, dumbwaldo. If you want to stop downloading spam, go find a freeware utility called Email Remover, I use it all the time.

It lets you "log on" to your mail server and download just the e-mail headers. If there are any you don't want you simply tag them for deletion *right off the server*. You never have to download the garbage to your PC. Also, if there is somthing you are not sure about it will allow you to "preview" the first 100 lines of the message (more than enough to know if its spam or not).

I am not involved with Email Remover in any way, except as a happy user for over four years.

Whatever you do, do not click on the "unsubscribe" (or similar) button either. All this does it to flag your account as active so they will send you more crap. Not cool.
