Hello all
I just bought a DVD recorder and want to put all my movies on DVDs. I want to put my Godfather collection which is about 4.8 GB in size on 1 DVD, and I know that on a DVD it says 4.7 GB. Before I waste one of my DVDs I just wanted to know if there's a little more space on a Disc or not.
Someone help me out plz? ( I Dont want to convert my movie to DVD Video format, I want to copy them just as data)

DVD's are actually 4,700,000,000 bytes, which equals about 4.37 actual GB.
What format are the movies in now and how are you putting them on dvd? -
Well... there are in AVIs and I want to put them as AVIs (only for computer use)
So you mean that I cannot put 4.8 GB on one disc? -
No you cannot put 4.8 GB on 1 disc, I would not even suggest burning the dvd to the full 4.37 capacity because some disc will give you jerky playback at the end.Originally Posted by ramin
