Hello. I posted several days ago about the problems i was having capturing from VHS. I had white bars(which evidently comes from built in anti-piracy stuff in my Nvidia Drivers) and i was having problems with my motion. I did everything recomended by upgraging to the newest drivers and i downloaded new capture software(VirtualDub and Virtual VCR) and huffyuv as a new codec.

Well when i tried dumping some stuff again i got the white bar constantly as opposed to sporatically(i assume because the drivers that i have now are better at catching the anti-copy stuff on the VHS) and now when i throw files that don't have bars into prmiere 1.5 pro the video is nothing but oddly colored static. What is the deal with that. It played fine in windows media player. that is all with virtual vcr, and with virtual dub windows media wouldn't even play the avi. I need to resolve this problem. One thing that really is irritating is that the white bar was showing up on a run of the mill over the counter bought vhs tape i tried to capture.

Does anyone have any clue as to why these 2 things are happening? ON the plus side my motion didn't apear to be jumpy anymore, although it doesn't do me much good since the video won't show up correctly in premiere.

    PLEASE HELP!!!

If it's a commercial tape the white bar is supposed to be there so you can't copy it. If it's your own tape see the current white bar thread: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1015830#1015830

You have an nvidia card to capture?
Use the older drivers wdm 1.08 to solve all kind of issues...
Then use virtualvcr or virtualdub to capture, using huffyuv, picvideo or that freeware asus video codec (a pic video variation).
