  1. When capturing to avi:
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    (with virtualdub):
    When set any higher than 352x288 of any dimensions
    Error 418: Unsupported video format
    then, when I ignore and start capture of vid:
    Error 425: Error: Out of memory for video buffers
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    other programs give similar messages when set above 352x288 with either uncompressed avi or when I use something like huffy.

    The program that comes with my capture card works fine on any resolution but does not tell me if it drops frames.

    Anybody else had this problem?

    Is that a BT8xx based card? Which drivers are you using?
