    i have vcds which i intend to convert to mpg and burn onto a dvd. how would i go about doing it? i use Mydvd... and there is a wizard that you choose vcd/dvd. should i pick dvd and add the mpg? or pick vcd? is there another sw that would be easier?

    Use TMPGEnc DVD Author - it takes care of everything. Else, you have to extract the audio, resample it to 48 kHz, and encode it to AC3 or mp2 (or you could use the 48 kHz wav as is).

    its vcd so doesnt it mean that it is 44hz

    Yes, that's the reason for upsampling to 48 kHz step. This has to be done whatever way you go about it. (But after this step, you can use the new 48 kHz wav as audio source.) However, TMPGEnc DVD Author does this for you if you try to author a VCD mpeg as DVD.
