I bought one of these older DVD-MPEG decoder cards many years ago. Basically, it is a hardware based MPEG2 decoder, to take the load off the computer's CPU. It worked well when used with a DVD-ROM drive to watch DVD movies, but isn't really necessary with today's faster CPU's.
I thought that since this card decodes MPEG2 thru hardware, I would try to decode HDTV MPEG2 which I downloaded to my hard drive. Unfortunately, it did not seem to make any difference.
Does anyone know if there is a "hack" which allows this card to decode HDTV MPEG2 streams?
