When I use my ATI AIW 128 Pro card to capture video in the VCD complient MPEG-1 format I get dropped frames and bad audio sync.
Yet I have no problem capturiung in the AVI format.
I just would like to know is my MPEG-1 capture problem a result of the capture card, the pittiful speed of my 333mhz computer, hard disk speed, the codecs, or a bit of all 4?

Hello,
I would check ati's website for a driver update. I have the wintv pvr250 and it had mpeg recording issues. Turns out it conflicted with windvd. They issued an update and no more problems. Give it a go and a new driver might help.

There are ways to make ATI MMC 8.7 work for 128 PRO cards. I've done it many times. About a 17-step process if done correctly. Contact me via my site.
