Are Mac Users Smarter Than PC Users?
http://www.macnewsworld.com/story/35130.htmlI doubt it's possible to get a definitive answer, but as long as you don't take any of it too seriously you can have a lot of fun playing with proxies such as the average user's ability to read and write his or her native language.

Yeah... well, just remember that A students teach B students who wind up working for C students. :P

My experience says "no". They're both equally stupid.

A danger level user is someone who knows just enough that the feel safe running around the system doing all sorts of stuff, even if they dont understand what they are doing. They are usually pretty sharp as far as using the system goes, but have no actual training or indepth knowledge because they are a User by nature, and not a hobbiest or tech.
I used to annoy my friends, if they were out of a job or no longer working in the tech field I'd call them Users, they would be like "Shut up, i know computers dumbass" so I'd kindly point out their current job situation has put them back down to the status of User, or PERHAPS a PowerUser, but the jury is still out on that one. -
I've done both Mac and PC support, and all users are stupid. I will give a slight edge to Mac users for only one reason. Most are smart enough to know they are too stupid to use PCs
Can't say the same about PC users. Most think they are smart enough to use PCs. They are wrong!

Same here, mac and PC at home.
I once had a old school unix guy call me, he had trouble shot his own problem down to something in the BSD core of the OS, the entire thing was WAY over my head not being a UNIXy type person. After explaining everything had found about his problem he ask "So uh... you got any clue to to fix this?" I couldn't help laughing, he laughed also. I explained that we are mostly hardware support, with BASIC software, and that if it were me I'd have Restored the thing already. His reply was basicly "yeah thats what I figured, didn't hurt to try though"
OS wise he's likely the most informed Caller I've gotten, very sharp dude.
On the flip side I have some regulars... oh my. One of them I am convinced breaks his computer out of spite so he can bother me at 4am. One of the others I'm sure is not allowed out in the rain for fear they would drown. One sound more like a gnome then a human.
Oh yeah and we noticed a trend working night shift, calls from Haiwaii usually are the worst of the worst. Its lead to the theory that something about the weather there actually slowly melts your brain.
