The following will be self explanatoryand is a copy of my correspondence with Rima Sales. I hear all kinds of things about the mistreatment we receive when ordering from online companies. Read this - it floored me. Not only was their response timely but a nice surprise.

Subject: Pricing - Taiyo Yuden 1730-50

    On July 3, 2004 I ordered a 50 pack of Taiyo Yuden 1730's. I paid $60.00.
I notice that the cost for same is now $55.00.

I'm not complaining but would like to know if there is any particular day
of the week or month where you review and change the prices so that I can take advantage of any price reductions.

    Thanks in advance,

    Ted

    Hello Ted,

    Since the price adjustment
on our website is made according to market trend, conpetitive condition, and the cost information from our vendors and manufacturers, we will not be able to provide any specific date or time on
    this issue.

For this time, we will issue a $5.00 credit directly back onto your card.

    Thank You,
    Rima Staff

    To: Rima-Sales:

You just got youself a loyal customer by providing me with a credit when I wasn't asking for one. I frequent videohelp.com and that's where I came across Rima.

I am going to post to that forum and let them know that you an honest company and post these messages. Hopefully this will bring business your way.

Thanks for kind treatment towards me and "Kudos to you all".

    Ted

Got this response shortly after writing them with my thanks...

    Hello Ted,

The price changes from time to time.
It is hard to satify everyone.
Please treat it as nothing special.
Thank you very much for your feedbacks and supports.

That's awesome. I always advocate emailing or writing companies, no matter it a good or bad experience, and this time it paid off for you.

  4. back in the fall i got a batch of riteks dvd-r's from rima.com. I made the mistake of getting them shipped to Canada via UPS opposed to paying more for expididate us postal service. UPS screws you on the brokerage fee.

but anyways.. the whole batch had problems burning at 4x in my burner, would lock it up before even writing anything. But they all burned at 2x fine and playback at 2x fine. So I wrote them and complain and they gave me 10 bux back and send me some samples just to see if it was my batch. And it was the samples worked fine. I was perfectly content getting through my 100 discs at 2x. it takes time but i wasn't choked about it, as long as i could burn 'em, shit happens. They offered me a refund to mail them back and get new ones, but i didn't wanna pay duty anymore.

anyways i order from blankmedia.ca now just to avoid the duty and no problems with their riteks. i think i've boughten 4 100 packs since i got my burner last year, and only the one spindle from rima had problems. So i was wondering if something happened to them in transit.

but ya rima handles themselves very well, if the shipping and duty wasn't so high, i'd continute to order from them

    screw UPS!

Back when blanks were still like $2 each, they refunded for a handful of coasters, no questions asked. I was pleased by that. I kept going to them for a long time until they were becoming too slow on delivery. I still go back to them here and there.

  6. They send me free samples of media when requested, several times now. I've rewarded them with five orders of about 800 Ridata DVD-R blanks. Great company, friendly staff, competative prices. When I place an order with them I KNOW it will show up on time and as ordered. Will use them as long as they are around.

RIMA is a good store. Low prices and fast replies to emails. Plus their website design is nice which is a major plus. And they tell you shipping without having to fill out your address (ahem... SuperMediaStore). There is room for improvement however. Made an order last night. Recieved an immediete confirmation but have not heard from them since- no shipping email today.
