hi
so i have this AVI file that has the dimensions of 640 X 272 (really widescreen) and i am trying and trying to convert this file to an MPEG that can be burned as a VCD. I have used TMPGenc for two years now to do my converting, but for some reason, TMPGenc freezes and crashes everytime i load this particular video file into it. that led me to try out the Ulead MediaStudio as well as the Ulead MovieFactory. I have come close to getting it right, but after my conversion attempts finish, i find that the dimensions of the video are not correct anymore...either it becomes a full screen movie, or the picture is stretched vertically, all because the VCD templates and what not have set standard resolutions/dimensions that cant be altered. there is a pull down menu but the only dimensions available will not work for me. also, there IS an option for "user defined" dimensions but it is dimmed and not available to change for me (as an MPEG....if saving as an AVI the dimensions can be changed). i have tried over and over and cannot seem to keep these dimensions the same so the movie will look right when i eventually get this thing burned.
if anyone out theres knows how i can manipulate Ulead to make the dimensions fit to a 640 X 272 avi file, any help would be greatly appreciated. OR if there is another program that you know of will work, PLEASE let me know what it is so i can give that a shot. thanks a lot
