AC3 to WAV Conversion Problems

I got a XVID video file which I was converting to my usual DVD format. As always, I would use FFMPEGUI for my AVI to AC3 conversions. However, FFMPEGUI does not convert the file, I don't know why.

I checked the audio on my source AVI file and it's perfect.

I tried using BESWEET which does encode the AVI to AC3 but again the AC3 file is distorted and incorrect.

I used virtualdub to extract WAV audio from my AVI file which gave me a proper and perfect WAV audio file. Again, I used FFMPEGUI to convert WAV to AC3 but it didn't work. I tried BESWEET to convert this WAV to aC3 and it still won't work.

What can I use to convert either my source AVI (XVID) video file to AC3 or it's extracted WAV audio to AC3 audio.

What type of audio is in your avi? Test it with Gspot to find out.

I like Goldwave for avi to wav conversions.

Um, are you sure you checked Full Processing before Save WAV? If it's actually an AC3 file with an improper .wav extension, I know from experience it won't work in ffmpegGUI. If GSpot says it's AC3, why don't you demux it in VirtualDubMOD?

I've checked my source AVI file in GSpot and in fact it is an AC3 audio. I have the VirtualDubMod but how do I "demux" the video in VirtualDubMod to get my audio?

VirtualDubMod -> Streams -> Stream list -> Demux.
That will create an .ac3 file. It may have to be fixed with BeSliced according to these Doom9 VirtualDub procedures.
