  1. DVD Shrink shows 2 audio tracks with the same name and size (one is in Mandarian and one is in Cantonese but both are listed as Chinese). Is there anyway to sample to audio track so that you can decide the one you want instead of selecting each one, burning the DVD, listening to it and hope that it was the correct one? Thank you.

You don't have to burn a DVD, and then find out if you selected the correct audio stream. Why don't you first back up to the hard disk in shrink, and then play it on your computer using any software DVD player, and find out if it is the correct stream?

Also, when you play the DVD on your PC, using Power DVD, and when you try to manually select the audio stream, you can find out if the stream you want is the first or the second in the list. Usually, the streams will appear in the same order in dvd shrink.

Also, I don't use the latest version of DVD shrink (I use version 3.0 beta 5) , but I think the latest version, also plays the audio, when you click on a title.

    Hopes this helps!

Well which one do you understand? I guess that's the one to pick.

  4. Thanks b_n83 for the response. Yes, I am aware that I can back up the DVD to the harddrive or for that matter a DVD+/-RW first to see if the correct audio track was selected but I'm trying to avoid losing precious time doing that. I will try the your PowerDVD suggestion. Hope it is the same as WinDVD which I have on my computer. If I understand you correctly, for example, if the 5th audio track is what I want when I select it in PowerDVD/WinDVD, then the 5th audio track is what I should select in DVD Shrink to backup with. Right? I will give it a try. Thank you.

  5. You can sample the DVD right in Shrink. Just right-click on the preview window to bring up a menu to change soundtracks while the disk is playing.
