  1. Is it just my "cheapie" DVD player,or should I be able to fast forward to the next file(as opposed to only being able to fast scan through each video until I reach the end)?

  2. Ok, I'm not 100% sure what you are trying to ask but I think you're saying that you have a VCD with multiple tracks. And that you can ff/rew within each track but for some reason hitting << >> (ie. next track) doesn't work?

    1) Did you try hitting the next track buttons?

    2) How did you author you VCD? Might I suggest using VCDImager, this should create a bin/cue file that allows you to ff/rev and skip tracks; as well as hit the number on your remote for the track you want to play.

  3. I'm new to this ,so I'm not even aware of the process to "author" a vcd (oh ,and yes it is multiple videos on one cd).
What software do I need to Author(or title)my VCD.
Is it dificult or straight forward for a newbie like me?

  4. In remote,
the button >> is for fastforward on a track and
button >>| if for next track.

  5. Yes..I realize that the controls for the fast forward etc are >> and so on.
    Thats not the problem.
The problem is that I press these buttons and I can scan through the video, but if I wanted to skip to the next video on the disc,it does not happen?/

  6. Perhaps it would be useful if you described on exactly how you created your VCD.

It is possible to author a VCD in such a way that "next" and "prev" don't go to previous and next tracks. That being said, most if not all authoring proggies would.

If you are interested in using VCDImager, I wrote an article on the creation of a simple multitrack VCD here: http://www.geocities.com/medinotes/vcd/simple_multitrack.html

    Good luck.
