  1. After encoding my avi with canopus procorder the resulting file plays back excellent on wmp9 but when I burn to disc using nero the resulting dvd is very jerky and seems to get stuck,I've been testing the file on a dvd-rw disc, I also use incd packet writing software from nero to erase my disc So i'm not sure wether this causes problems as when I insert the disc into my dvd-ron on my pc it won't play back. Could this be a problem by using the dvd-rw? If there's no jerkiness on mp9 I watch can I safely assume that it will be ok on my dvd player if I burn a fresh out od packet dvd-r?
I'd just like some info b4 I burn another coaster

    Thanks.

  3. Agree with the poster above - remove InCD from your machine if you expect to burn DVD-video (and even if you don't). Nero Burning ROM can erase discs just fine.

  4. cheers for the replys, I believe incd is playing a part, I was using a DVD-RW to test the completed film but after changing to a dvd+r it came out alright I use incd for easiness because the windows version basically is crap, it wont let u delete files just overwrite them and everything gets saved on your pc ready to be written rather than just drag and drop, this said something weird happens to the RW disc after I have written to it because it does'nt register it in my drive even though it plays in my dvd player(badly)
Nero Burning ROM can erase discs just fine.
Does this mean incd and nero have different ways of erasing a disc?I know to use incd it needs formatted again.

I believe InCD doesn't just erase the disc but also formats it for the packet writing, something like with a floppy disc (I'm not 100% certain though). Nero certainly erases the discs properly.

  6. Ok cheers I'll check with nero, theres both option to either just erase or format for use with incd, formatting erases while it formats but I've been just erasing, maybe its the way that incd erases that some apps don't like, 1thing I've noticed is that when I try and burn to a disc I have erased with incd, nero burning rom formats it agin before caching files, I'll let u know what I find with nero.

nero has two ways of erasing rw's. a quick erase takes less than a minute, and basically makes it look like the disc is empty. since the recorder automatically erases as it goes, theres really no need to fully erase it. the other option is full erase, you can use it, but i always just use quick erase. if you develop a problem with a disc, use full erase though

  8. Be aware if you wrote cd's with incd they may not work after removing it??

Not sure which packet writing type program I used, Sony or Nero, but I burned some RWs awhile back, worked nicely just used the RW like a drive to save files as I wanted. Tonight I put one of those older disks in my system to use and got an error message something like disk written in udf, need to install udf reading software (Incd I think it said)!

Hmm, looking at the full disk with explorer it showed one tiny readme.txt file that said the same thing! And of course I did not have it handy to install at the moment either.

I think I had the problem some disks not reading in my other systems that did not have burners back then and that's why I stopped using it anyway.

  9. Yeah its does seem to have some conflicts, nero has a free d/load so that ppl without incd installed can read the discs but I never tried it, I had a problem with incd formatted discs showing up as music cd's because of having only 1 track on it, the problem was supposed to be cured by updating the firmware for my burner but that did'nt work
Ah well looks like its back to old reliable windows
