  1. Hello, I just edited some video that i have recorded of my friends wedding, and the raw video was 1920x1080 30p and my project render was 1280x720 30p.

My output file was .mt2 extension for high definition.

I am trying to use nero to burn it to dvd because I want to make chapters and create a dvd menu, but when i try to add the files to nero it wont work. Please help. Thanks.

What are you planning to use for playback? That resolution won't work for a regular DVD and set top player, so I assume you plan to author it to a Blu-ray player compatible disk?

    And welcome to our forums.

EDIT: You might take a look to the upper left on this page for 'WHAT IS' 'Blu-ray' and 'DVD' for the specifications, format and structure of Blu-rays and DVDs.

  3. Thank you for your reply.

I was going to use the disc a playstation 3. Now that you point that out, I guess it wont work to burn these to dvd?

The only way would be to burn the dvd as a data disc and hope the player can read the file types?

  4. That's right. Unless you resize it to 720x480/576 and reencode it to MPEG-2, then no true DVD video for you. I have no idea what a Playstation 3 accepts, but burning it as a data disc is worth a try.

  5. Thank you again..

For your reference, the Playstation 3 is equipped with a blu-ray player.

So I guess I will just make 2 versions of my video.

    1. I will re-encode it as .mpg at 720x480 for DVD

    2. I will just use my .mt2 files on a laptop and stream it via HDMI. Thanks for all your help!

You could also look at multiAVCHD for creating AVCHD authored discs for burning onto DVD5s with Imgburn. The PS3 will happily play these, and you can have menus/chapters etc.
