  1. I created VCDs for the first time and used TMPGEnc to convert .avis to .mpg 1 and mpg 2. No errors. Then used Nero 5.0 to make the VCDs and got no errors. Tried to play them on the DVD Konka 1800-U and it would not play. Can anyone help?????

It's not the player unless you have a broken one since my Konka 1800U1 plays standard VCD perfectly. When you converted, did you follow the guide here http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgenc.htm ? Did you use the standard VCD template (Load from the Templates directory)?

By the way, you can't use mpeg2 for standard VCD - that would be XVCD and may not play on your player; not sure, I'ver never tried.

  3. I am currently redoing mpg conversion with the template for VCD PAL(i didn't use the templates). I also upgraded to NERO 5.5 hopefully this will work. I also tried running it with win media player with no dice.
