  1. Hi

I'm a Newbie to this DVD ripping lark, and has just bought an Artec 8x burner. I was ignorant of not being able to just copy my original movies like you can with CD's, but have now found your site and ripping guides. My main question is, how do I copy PS2 DVD games? I have tried a couple using RecordNow Max DV, but they do not work on my Chipped PS2. Any help, or which software to use would be very appreciated!

    Cheers

It might be the brand of media
Just doing a regular DVD disk copy like backing up a cd should work just fine with Recordnow max

What version PS2 do you have?
    Which chip is it?
What procedure are you using with RecordNow?
What brand of dvd's are you using?

I've heard, but not used the software product Alcohol 120%. It's good for making PS2 and PC game backups along woth a lot of other things too.
Big Government is Big Business.. just without a product and at twice the price... after all if the opposite of pro is con then wouldn’t the opposite of progress be congress?

Burning method and media are REALLY important for PS2. I suggest ISo read/write in DVD Decrypter and/or RecordNow (do not use Nero or Roxio) and then good media like LD01 inkjet, PRODISCS03, Ritek inkjet, and MXLRG01/02.

  5. Hi

PS2 is about 4 years old, not sure what version..
Chip is Messiah, media is Datawrite Red. Software is actally Sonic MyDVD suite with RecordNow DV included, just tried a straight copy, but discs won't read in PS2.

Will try with DVD Decrypter as others say this works.

    Thanks

  6. Hi All

Just used DVD Decrypter to make an ISO copy of a PS2 DVD game, this worked fine, but when I came to burn it, althought it seemed ok, it found an 'i/o error' when it verified. I can only think that it is my Datawrite discs that are crap! the burned part looks wavy...Will try again with another brand.

  7. Hi

Managed to rip and burn (and verify) a PS2 game using DVD decrypter, but it still won't work in the damn PS2!! Think maybe my laser is about shot, as have had a few 'disk error' messages lately. Will keep trying with new media, and maybe try Alcohol 120%...

    Cheers

You'll probably find decent output from Alcohol 120%. You'll also want to keep your posts related to topic. A lot of us like to pick on newbies that post in Off Topic with In Topic items. It probably is the media used in your burner that not letting you play the burn on your Practical S**T 2(PS2)! Notice I said it's 'practical', because I have one and I like it.

  9. Hi

Thanks for that. What topic should this question be in then? Can you recommend some decent media then?, my 'Datawrite Red' stuff must be crap, so far, most are coasters!

Try some of the Forum topics below. Many newer disc game systems on the market make only DVD Games. Though they are not movies, they are still considered DVDs. Any topic related to DVD burning should do.
