If you already have Nero you can use that. Go to Extras>Encode Files.

You could even use musicmatch jukebox. It converts, plays and burns. Or you could use lame mp3 encoder.

Cdex will convert WAV to MP3

But you dont need to convert the WAV files to MP3 to get them onto a CD, you can burn the WAV's

How does that work burning wavs to cd? Do they play in normal cd players, mp3/cd players and are they small like mp3 so you can fit tons on a disk?

As CD audio I need lots of disks, as mp3 I have a hard time filling a disk up! All my cars have cassette players, my pickup has a Cd player, I have a portable MP3/CD player. Oh yeah, I also still have one working 8track player I just tried in the old console stereo tv I have while palying a phono record

    Hey overloaded_ide,

Im no Audio Tech Guru or anything

But i think Audio Cd's are different to DVD as in its the length of the songs not how big the files are. a 80 min cd will hold 80 mins worth of audio.

when you burn an audio CD it creates these CDDA files which i think are index files that point to the actual audio file on the cd, i dont know what format the audio file is stored in someone said they were WAV files but i dont know that. they are hidden anyway.

if you feed MP3 files to nero to make an audio CD it makes these CDDA files same if you feed nero WAV files

its better to feed the WAV cause then it hasnt converted (reduced quality) to MP3

a MP3 CD is different cause theyre just burnt as data. you can fit 700mb of data on them (there are bigger CD's)

audio CD's with the CDDA files will play on normal CD players.

    MP3 cd's you need a mp3 player

sorry if i confused you maybe someone else can explain it better

A wav file is the computer equivalent to the cdda file on the cd, so in other words, it is the exact same size as the song on the disc. A wav file is larger in size than an mp3 because it is uncompressed. It will play in your player. It is just a music cd. Depending on the file-sizes, you can only put up to about 18 songs on a disc.
