eminems suing apple for using his song to promote itunes
based on riaa calculations of $750 per song does this not mean that he can sue them for $750 for every person they broadcast it to
that must be over a billion dollars

who gets the $750 that the riaa get for each song they sue for does it go to the artist or do the riaa just keep it

The riaa keeps it. All of the settlement money so far has not been distributed to the artists.

  3. Lawyers, it goes to lawyers on both sides and the ones in between.

I had a big rant but deleted it since I felt better.

What I find amusing is that Smartie thinks he is sooooo bad-ass when all he is doing is extending the stereotype monopoly that the RIAA has built up. Shame on him and everyone like him, says I.

Not much to say here. What a prick. Perhaps he'll sue the child doing the singing in the advert as well.

In any case, fair use says you can reproduce a portion of lyrics, right?

  7. Just for shits and giggles, I did a search for Eminem on WinMX...

I think he's got bigger problems that Apple right now.

Actually, I've seen interviews where the kid singing and "punking" him with his own song is one of the bigger issues I think that he dislikes the "uncoordinated white kids who like rap, like me" image.
