  1. I have a bunch of DVD's I made from old VHS. Unfortunately, I made them using Besweet to encode ac3 audio before I found out that Besweet makes non-compliant audio (they play fine on my DVD player, but not on all). Since I've thrown out the tapes, how can I reconvert the dvd audio back into compliant ac3? I now use TMPG to make compliant ac3, works great.

Why don't you re-encode with TMPGEnc then?

I think the problem is, I don't have the sources anymore. All I have is the DVD itself. I don't really know how to use the ripping software that's out there; is there a way to extract the audio from the dvd and turn it back into a wav file?

Oh! I didn't know that it would re-encode the ac3. Seems to work, I'll have to give it a try!

    Thanks,

If that doesn't work u can DVD2DAVI to make a dv2 project that will extract the audio. Use bsweet to convert back to wav or use HeadAC3he, then reauthor the dvd with weapons of choice make sure the audio files are 48K though
