There's also a new plugin for TMPGEnc located at:
http://www.marumo.ne.jp/trash/swf_vfp-0.1.2.lzh
I don't know if its experimental, i can't read Japanese. -
ohh, a tmpgenc plugin for shockwave flash.
Download and extract the plugin above to your tmpgenc folder, you might need winrar to be able to open lzh archive.
Open the swf in tmpgenc and you can convert to mpeg1 or avi/divx/xvid by choose file->output to file -> AVI. -
i just tested the tmpgenc swf plugin...it worked on some swf and not that good on some.
other swf to converting tools:

You don't really have to "catch" the swf file, as it is not streaming media. You simply save the file. You should then be able to open it in Windows or, at the very least, in a web browser. That is, if viewing in its original state is your goal.
If you want to be able to view it on television oredit it, use one of the tools in Baldrick's link. However, you will lose the interactivity of the orginal swf.
