  1. Hi all,

firstly sorry if this is in the wrong place but this is my first post and dont really have a clue!! Im attemting to create a dvd from an avi file using cinema craft encoder. Ive read the guide (brilliant by the way!) and everything appears to go fine apart from the fact i have fat32 file system and cant handle a file of more than 4gb. I duno how to change this any help? Anyway, despiute this i successfully create the necessaary mv2 file, which i then run through pulldown and convert to pal (25 frames per sec). this goes fine.

However, when i put this file into tmpg author throughs up a number of errors. Firstly its telling me that the file is 2hours six mins long when in fact gspot has told me the original avi file was 1hour 49 mins. I then get a problem regarding the the bitrate of the file which apparently exceeds the maximum of 9.848 mbps (mine come in at just over 10.00mbs). Despite this a dvd file is successfully created.

Then the next problem arises that the audi is well out of sync ith the picture (I have converted the audio using besweet and put the frame rate up to 25/sec) Also, the dvd player is telling me the file is only 1.43 hours in length, despite the fact that tmpg auhtor told me it should be over two hours????!!!

Sorry to put so many problems in one post but im finding this thing really frustrating as i so near yet so far!!!!

    convert to NTFS

On the other questions, you did not provide enough information. To give you a potential "silver bullet", try dvd2svcd, which also converts AVI files to other formats including DVD. There are a few guides out there that will assist you with the settings. See if this helps.

To convert a volume to NTFS from the command prompt
    Open Command Prompt.
In the command prompt window, type
    convert drive_letter: /fs:ntfs

For example, typing convert D: /fs:ntfs would format drive D: with the ntfs format.

    Notes

To open command prompt, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
You can convert FAT or FAT32 volumes to NTFS with this command.
