  1. Hi, Iam just new to this Encoding Process , I Just encoded dvd movie Pearl Harbour(6.5GB) to MPEG-4 AVC/ AC3 Audio, The output was 1.89GB. Before this i encoded The Island DVD Movie(5GB) to MPEG-4 AVC/AAC Audio, Both have crystal clear video quality without loss of quality, but i found some difference in Audio, & i couldnt figure which is best audio format AAC OR AC3?

    Please Advice

    thanks...

If you want to keep the dolby 5.1 I would use ac3, no reconversion so better quality.

The advantage of AC3 audio is that it is (or can be) the exact same (no quality loss) as as on the DVD AND you can route the audio to an AC3 Dolby Digital decoder (e.g. via S/PDIF to an A/V receiver) to get 5.1 surround sound.
The deal with AAC is that it is true MPEG-4 audio, compatible with specific hardware (e.g. iPod).
