  1. What do you think is the best way to do this?

    I read the tutorials but they all re-encode the video. Since the video is already mpeg2, isn't it better to try and split the audio with tmpengc and then resample to 48k?

    also, I would tmpengc mpeg tools to join the video files together before demuxing and resampling. Isn't this better?

    Read some more on resolution. 480x480 (480x576 PAL) is not a valid DVD resolution.

    Try svcd2dvd (tools section). It's not free but its so easy, good and fast its well worth a measly £10.

    If your player does SVCDs , It just might play a DVD with
    SVCD files on it. There are some guides somewhere on how to do it.
