  1. I got past my sound problems by switching to virtual vcr
but my question now is the video i captured was 15 mins
long and used 19gb of space, is this normal to use so much
disk space with the amount of video i captured.

  2. probably you did not choose any video codec and it is using the default uncompressed video. follow the capturing guides on the left...

  3. I was sure i followed it to the tee, in the devices section when
i drop the video source that box is empty and when i go to
Device Settings the setting Video Capture Pin is missing in
    that section there is
    Video Format
    Video Source
    Audio Capture Filter
should i write these in, i'm using Doom9s guide
so if i follow this guide to the letter it wont use as much space
be gentle with me please this is a whole new world for me

  4. under Settings -> Video, did you tick "Use Compression" and choose the desired codecs? Then, click Prop to configure the video codecs (bitrate etc.).

    as for:
    Video Format
    Video Source
    Audio Capture Filter

the appropriate selections will be displayed if everything is installed correctly. you cannot just type it in manually..
