  1. Ive recorded a few things on my Phillips dvdr70, from my vcr.

When I playback the recorded clips through regular stereo,
    the sound is perfect.

When I hook the thing up to my DDigital reciever,
    I get a hiss.

Same thing when I play it on the computer.

    Any ideas?

It records a standard PAL dvdr with DD2.0 aud.

The hiss is not on the tape.

what "mode" is your DD receiver set to? stereo, pro logic, 6channel stereo....?

could be that the hiss -is- there you just can't usually hear it on your TV

  5. Its Pro Logic.

I dunno, but how could there be noise on the vhs AND the dvd copy,
if I can only hear it as its played through my reciever or my computer?
(ie, when using DD, not just scart-> telly's stereo)

I mean, what is done to introduce the sound when playing it through DD?
    It seems strange that my tv would somehow magically hide the noise;
shouldnt there be a possibility to get that clean audio somehow?

  6. I tried putting my dvdrecorder and the vcr on a table alone,
only connected to eachother through a scart,
and a s-video from the recorder to my tv-card(computer)
    for preview.

    The sound still appears..

    argh..
